Maria Le Roux

Maria Le Roux, like the vast majority of Afrikaner girls, started out as a good one - obtaining a BSc. Agriculture degree with Oenology and Viticulture from Stellenbosch University - before commencing a career of having fun!

First she made a Red Jerepigo on the Klein Karoo family farm which won a double gold Veritas and then strung together 12 vintages on 4 continents in 7 years at top estates in the Napa Valley, Margaret River, Alsace, Loire. The list goes on. Between continent hopping, Maria made wonderful friends and wines at Nelson's Creek, De Wetshof, Backsberg and L'Ormarins.

Maria's credo ranges from screw caps to the necessary relations between excellent vines and excellent wines.

'I enjoy life to the fullest but without wines and vines it can be pretty dull. At Eaglevlei I have the opportunity to practice my craft and live out my passion to the fullest. I know you will love the results! '
