Eaglevlei wine
Eaglevlei Shiraz 2005
In my opinion, South Africa, like with the Sauvignon Blanc, has great potential to produce the worlds best Shiraz. They are not as crude as some of the Australian wines, but instead have finesse and elegance.
This wine has a vibrant crimson red colour with rich aromas of chocolate, coffee and touches of white pepper and ginger. The palate is mouth filling with wonderful berry and spice flavours and a fresh lively finish. Enjoy now or mature for 3 - 5 years. As this is a full bodied wine, you can serve it with heavier dishes, it goes fantastically well with chocolate and try it with a curry!
This wine again is fantastic to use in your own blend, try this one, it is my favourite combination and I know you will like it; 2 part Merlot, 1 part Cabernet Sauvignon and 1 part Shiraz - it is amazing!

Eaglevlei Sauvignon Blanc 2006
I had great fun making this wine and it is one of my favorites ! In my opinion, South Africa is a sleeping giant as far as Sauvignon goes.
This wine has a pale green colour with herbaceous aromas and the smell of freshly cut grass. It is a zesty and racy medium bodied wine with a well balanced palate, so it will go with most light dishes Serve with seafood dishes, salads and cheese.
If you are going to choose any bottle, choose this one, I promise you wont be disappointed.

Eaglevlei Merlot 2005
This is a fantastic wine and I am over the moon with the quality and character. It has lots of blackberry and plumb fruit on the nose, soft jammy choc flavours on the palate with a firm tannic core.
The best Merlot should feel like layers of velvet when you taste, try this one ! As this is a medium bodied wine, so you can serve it with lighter dishes as well as the rich ones. So try serving it with pasta, cheese and red wine dishes or even just drink it by itself.
Don't forget to also try it with the Cabernet Sauvignon in a blend, this time try 2 parts Merlot and 1 part Cabernet which will just raise the Merlot into a more punchy elegant taste.

Eaglevlei Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
The king of grapes, you will know when you are drinking this powerful Cabernet. It has inviting blackberry fruit on the nose is complemented by attractive whiffs of cedar, caramel and vanilla. These flavours follow through on the velvety smooth, mouth filling palate. This is a full bodied blockbusting wine which is well balanced and lingers on the palate.
It is perfect with any rich meat; beef, lamb, venison even Kangaroo. Try chilling the wine in the fridge before serving for a completely different, but very rewarding taste sensation; it's really nice, I promise.
This wine is also perfect for blending yourself, try 2 part Cabernet Sauvignon and 1 part Merlot for a lighter wine with all the character of the Cab and Merlot together and it will also go with lighter foods.

Eaglevlei Chardonnay (Unoaked) 2006
Rich is the word the both describes Chardonnay and explain its popularity. Its aroma is distinct, yet delicate, difficult to characterize, easier to recognize. It often smells like apples, lemons, peaches & tropical fruit. Oak commonly takes over Chardonnay if the wine is fermented or aged in new barrels or for too long in seasoned ones.
This wine is medium bodied with mouth watering flavours of citrus, lime & apples.

Eaglevlei Special No.7 Pinotage
The result of a cross between Pinot Noir & Cinsaut (Hermitage) varieties. Pinotage was created in South Africain 1925, by Stellenbosch University Professor A.I. Peroldt. The vine is easy to grow, and grapes ripen easily & early. The wines typically have good colour & can age well.
This 'old world styled' Pinotage is not like any other typical Pinotage. Whiffs of liquorice and roses are quite prominent on the nose. Unusual aromas, such as Madagascan Green Peppercorns, red lollypops and almonds bursts through on the palate. Well balanced with delicate tannin towards the end.
Enjoy now or within 3 - 5 years from harvest. Enjoy with pork belly and good company!
